Grammy-winning artist Lizzo has been forced to postpone yet another tour date due to illness. The “Truth Hurts” singer was set to perform in Montreal, but had to cancel the show after revealing that she’s battling strep throat.

In a heartfelt video message posted to her social media accounts, Lizzo apologized to fans and explained that she had been pushing herself too hard on tour. “I’ve been going hard on this tour, trying to give you the best show possible,” she said. “But unfortunately, I’ve caught a really bad cold and it’s progressed into strep throat.”

Lizzo went on to explain that she’s been receiving medical treatment, but her condition has not improved enough to allow her to perform. “I’ve been on antibiotics, taking care of myself, and trying to rest as much as possible,” she said. “But it still hurts to speak, and it really hurts to cancel on you guys.”

Despite her disappointment in having to postpone the show, Lizzo was grateful for the support of her fans. “I’m so sorry to everyone who was coming to see me tonight,” she said. “I love you guys so much, and I promise I’ll be back as soon as I can.”

This is not the first time Lizzo has been forced to postpone a tour date due to health concerns. In 2019, she was forced to cancel a show in Boston due to a vocal cord injury. At the time, she also posted a video message to fans, explaining that her doctor had advised her to rest her voice.

It’s clear that Lizzo cares deeply about her fans and is committed to giving them the best show possible. Unfortunately, sometimes our bodies have other plans. We wish Lizzo a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing her back on stage soon.
