lee Cube’s “Big 3” is Officially Recognized as the First Black-Owned Sports League in America

O’Shea Jackson, better known by his rap name Ice Cube, has been a trailblazer in many areas. The LA native has excelled as a director, rapper, actor, entrepreneur, and now he can add another major achievement to the list.

Ice Cube has the honor of having his “BIG3”company certified as a Black-owned and operated business by “US Black Chambers Inc.” and “ByBlack”. It is the first and only black owned professional sports league to receive official acknowledgment.

The “BIG3” is 3-on-3 competition that primarily uses former NBA players to compete against each other. Ice Cube along with entertainment executive Jeff Kwatinetz originally launched the “BIG3” in 2017. Ice Cube wrapped up his 5th season for the “BIG3” basketball tournament this year.

BIG3 basketball league have begun talks to sell some of its teams as it looks to open up ownership to potential investors this year. The company recently began selling ownership-stakes to some noteworthy people who include Snoop Dogg, co-founder of PayPal Ken Howery, Bill Lee from MyDoge wallet brought the Dogecoin, and Gary Vee.
